The price of our tours is ground only and does not include flights. However as a fully bonded ATOL holder we are able to book your flights for you. Please contact our U.K. office for a flight quotation. We have found flight costs to be very volatile over recent years and the prices are only accurate at the time of quotation.
We can also organise add-ons to our set tours so that you can include other Southern African destinations.Nomad is registered in both U.K. and Zambia. Our U.K office is run by Diane and the Zambian office is run by Oriel. Our base in Zambia is at Liyoyelo Farm, close to Livingstone and 16km upstream from Victoria Falls. At Bushbuck River House we can offer en-suite accommodation and it is an ideal location from which to start and end a tour, or from which to explore the surrounding area. It takes only one hour to drive to Botswana, two hours to Namibia and 20 minutes to Zimbabwe.
GUEST BOOK COMMENTS
Our holiday was just perfect and we began to see into Africa, rather than just looking at it. Each day was planned to perfection and never did we feel we had had enough. The itinerary could not have been improved. We loved the remote camps, the peace and quiet, not to mention your meals. The food was absolutely delicious. We hope there will be a next time for us.

We had a truly memorable time. Alan was a very lucky 'find' from our perspective. He looked after us very well, was good company and impressively knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time and felt pleased that our instincts about Nomad - namely that it provided a personal touch and did not try and overstate things - were proved entirely correct. I think we both have a hankering to visit Namibia within the next couple of years and we expect to arrange that with you

Thank you for another wonderful African Adventure. It was so exciting -sometimes you just didn't want the days to end. We saw so much, wonderful to see the (Wild) Dogs as they came to meet us, as if they were looking or us. It was lovely to finish up at Bushbuck House and we enjoyed going to the school. What a difference you have made to a lot of families. Thank you for looking after us so well.

Was probably the most successful game viewing we have experienced and we had several sightings of lion and leopard at close range...Among the smaller inhabitants we saw porcupine, genets, jackals, hyenas, mongooses and abundant birdlife. We camped in fixed en-suite tents by the Luangwa river and got used to the elephants walking through the camp and the sounds of nearby hippo at night. Dad thought he would rest rather than get up each morning for 6am game drives and would perhaps take just a few of the evening drives. In the end he didn’t miss one single drive and was game viewing for eight hours each day, totally addicted to it and not wanting to miss anything. Then we spent several days relaxing at a thatched house on a farm on the Zambezi near Livingstone owned by Alan and Oriel of Nomad African Travel (who we knew from a previous trip) so we could visit Victoria Falls. They are great hosts and the meals taken overlooking the river were highly memorable. We then spent several days at Chobe in Botswana with Alan guiding us. The opportunity to view game from the water there is excellent and the accommodation quite luxurious.

Thank you for a fantastic time this summer in Africa. Words cannot express the range of emotions that I experienced and I know these were shared by the students and staff that were on the trip. Thank you for your skill in managing not only a very successful holiday but also for doing the groundwork in setting up the village project. I think all were touched by the welcome we received in the village and could not fail to notice the high regard that the villagers have for the two of you. You must be proud of your association with the village and the progress made over the years.

I spent 5 days in the Bushbuck River House with my girlfriend and could have stayed the whole year. You really feel at home. Oriel and the staff were friendly and welcoming and we had the privacy we wanted. Breakfast and home made dinner were great, much better than other places in town. The unfenced house is on the Zambezi, in a lovely setting, away from town, which makes it the perfect place to relax and taste the African wilderness. The amazing night sky allows you to see the milky way as you’ve never seen it before. In the afternoon you can just go to the tree house and watch the hippos fighting against the powerful Zambezi river. Absolutely great value for money. Do not miss the Chobe National Park in Botswana, which is only 1.5 hours drive from the house.

Six American cousins travelling around South Africa visited Livingstone and stayed at the Bushbuck River House. I had a fabulous time. Good food, good beds, good guide, good hosts with interesting conversations, good transportation provided and good fun. The only drawback was that we did not schedule enough time, I could have easily stayed 2 or 3 days more to relax and enjoy Bushbuck River House, its hosts and its setting.
